The course is nearly coming to an end after 8 packed months. I'm now back in London on one of my last placements. This time I'm spending a few weeks in the workshop at W.Thomas Restorations . I'm fortunate enough to have the opportunity to learn from master carver Ray Dudman. So far I've been working on adding new sections of carving to replace bits that have broken off and also working on replicating a variety of traditional mouldings.
A couple of traditional carving styles that I've been attempting to copy. Practise makes perfect!
Battersea power station looking a little sorry for itself with only three chimneys at the moment and admiring the stone carving at the National History Museum (some of the exhibits weren't bad either).
