<p>Amongst other carvings I have just finished this oak plaque which says 'I Love You' in Dhivehi (Maldives). With the date of their wedding underneath, this was then faux aged to give it a bit more character than a new piece of oak. I wasn't able to find a design which matched perfectly so a bit of artistic license was used!</p>

Traditionally it is left as plain white decoration but I'm experimenting with adding different pigments to see how the design will look with a few earthy colours included.</p>

Lacewood is from the Plane tree and has a really interesting grain and colouring to it which looks fantastic once waxed and polished.&nbsp;</p>
